INORMS is pleased to announce the forthcoming publication of a milestone work on research management and administration.
The Emerald Handbook of Research Management and Administration around the World aims to address the under-investigated area of research management and administration (RMA) by bringing together researchers and RMA practitioners from around the world to explore the field. With contributions from 127 authors, the book offers a diverse range of perspectives and experiences on the history, context, identity, and professionalism of RMAs. It provides an international and cross-cultural picture of the professionals who actively engage in research support, covering over 50 countries across seven regions: Africa, North America, South America, Asia, Australasia, Eastern Europe, Western Europe, and the Middle East. This collaborative effort sheds light on a relatively new area of study and offers valuable insights for those interested in RMA as a career or a research topic.
The book features contributions from members of many INORMS associations. Thanks to the generous sponsorship from EARMA, ARMA-NL, DARMA, and FORTRAMA, the book is available for free as an open access publication.
The manuscript was published on 29th November 2023, and can be browsed online chapter by chapter, or downloaded as an e-book. You can also purchase a hard-back print version if you really want!
